Newcomer's League September 2021 - Sundays 2:15

Always fascinated by curling but never tried it out? Now's your chance!

This 3-week league is designed for curlers with limited or no experience to learn the game, sharpen their skills, and brush up on basics before jumping into our regular fall leagues. It's especially great for people who have taken a prior Learn to Curl session and want to take the next step, or prospective curlers who've never taken a Learn to Curl. On-site instruction and guidance will be provided during curling matches. All the equipment needed to curl will be provided by the club. This league is not intended for Aksarben Curling Club members or experienced curlers.

Registration is $75. Play will be on Sundays from 2:15 PM- 4:15 PM on the following dates:

• Sep 12th
• Sep 19th
• Sep 26th

Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your draw time to assist with set up to ensure a timely start. Likewise, make time afterward for broomstacking.

Games are until 4:15 PM or eight ends - whichever comes first.

ITEMS OF NOTE
- Park in Lot 25 and enter the west doors. 
- We curl on the Holland Ice (past the big stairs and left at the skate shop). 
- Please wear clean, grippy shoes like tennis shoes. 
- The ice rink is kept at 40 degrees - please dress accordingly. Layers are recommended. Blue jeans are not.

Recommended Ages: 13-Adult

Masks will be required for all curlers until further notice given the current COVID conditions. The Board of Directors will continue to monitor COVID conditions and guidance from health professionals throughout the fall, and update guidelines as appropriate. These guidelines are subject to change at the discretion of the Aksarben Curling Board of Directors.
